Reflection for July 2002

The best are like water
bringing help to all
without competing
choose what others avoid
hence approaching the Tao
dwelling with earth
thinking with depth
helping with kindness
speaking with truth
governing with peace
working with skill
moving with time
and because they don't compete
they aren't maligned

                           --THE TAO TE CHING

Monthly Practices:

bulletObserve the ways of water: nurturing, flowing, resourceful, flexible, and constant.  Practice and incorporate these qualities in your life this month.

bulletTake two lines from the passage of THE TAO TE CHING and as a daily practice model or take an action that embodies what the lines say.

bulletHelp purify and preserve our water resources. Protect streams, rivers, lakes, and oceans.
